We are created to follow. In the very beginning, God created us in His own image so that we could connect with Him as our perfect guide to lead us to the reality of life He desires for us.
As Followers we listen to only one. Although we may hear a multiplicity of voices from within and without, it is the voice of Christ , who simply said, “Follow Me.” No condition, No negotiation, No contractual exceptions. Just follow.
To follow-It is the beginning and end of what it means to be a Christian. Everything in between is measured by it. But if we have chosen life on our own terms we become disillusioned, wondering why life is not all it’s cracked up to be.
Will you Follow?

Too many Christians have a commitment of convenience. They'll stay faithful as long as it's safe and doesn't involve risk, rejection, or criticism. Instead of standing alone in the face of challenge or temptation, they check to see which way their friends are going.
The road that leads to heaven is risky, lonely, and costly in this world, and few are willing to pay the price. Following Jesus involves losing your life-and finding new life in him.

“I’m not very good at sticking with it, but I’m great at starting over.”
I’ve said that many times over the years, especially as it relates to exercise. I often start a new regimen, try to establish a healthy habit, stick with it for a few weeks, and then get distracted and “fall off the wagon,” only to pick myself up and get back on it again.
In many ways, that’s true of my quiet times as well. There have been seasons where I faithfully journaled, pouring my heart out to God on paper. I have done the read-through-the-Bible-in-a-year program more than once, used countless devotionals, tried multiple Bible study tools, and even set a timer for Seven Minutes With God.
While all of these methods have merit, none of them is the definitive technique for spending time with God. Lately for me, spending a few moments in prayer in the morning puts me in an attitude of prayer for the rest of the day. I imagine it doesn't matter when or even how long, the important thing is taking time to listen for His voice.

God has you where you are for a reason. You are not in your city or community by accident. You are in your job, your school, your neighborhood, or your apartment complex with the gifts, skills, abilities, and resources you possess by divine design. God has sovereignly given you unique opportunities for the spread of gospel hope in the world around you so ask of the lord and find your reason.
