The Apostle Paul speaks of his conversion after he had met the risen Christ
(Acts 26:14), he told his audience that God asked a question,
“Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads” .
The goad was a board that had nails or metal (pricks) sticking out of the back that was attached to the plow, so that when the oxen started to buck their load, they’d kick against the goads or pricks and it would cause them pain. The more you kick the more pain is caused, the cattle quickly understood it was painful to resist and submitted to the driver.
That’s what Paul was doing resisting the truth of God’s calling and trying to persecute Jesus’ church. It was futile for Paul to attempt to destroy what Jesus said that even the gates of hell would not prevent (Matt 16:18).
Is this you? Are you kicking against God’s leading His loving direction for your life. Beloved stop hurting yourself give into the Shepherds leading and submit to His will.
