"And a little later those who stood by came up and said to Peter, “Surely you also are one of them, for your speech betrays you.” Then he began to curse and swear, saying, “I do not know the Man!” Immediately a rooster crowed".
On occasion it is easy to voice our opinion of what we would or would not do in a given situation; however experience has shown that we really have no idea of what we are capable of until we are faced with our differing state of affairs. The Bible tells us of just such of an occasion… in the book of Matthew 26:33-35 states:
33 Peter replied, “Even if all fall away on account of you, I never will.”
34 “Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”
35 But Peter declared, “Even if I have to die with you, I will never disown you.” And all the other disciples said the same.
We know what comes next. True to Christ’s word Peter disowned, denounced, or denied Christ three (3) times before morning.
What would you have done?...
