Recently I was preparing to teach a Sunday School lesson at the church I attend. The scripture text was coming from 1Chronicles 16. There were three (3) subtopics, one of which was “Seek His Face” I mention this because this subtopic brought a conviction that drove me to my knees.
To make a long story short, In reading the subtopic I felt God ask me a question “When was the last time you prayed?”
I told myself I pray everyday, I speak to the Lord upon waking up, as I commute from place to place, and before entering were I work. ‘You know how we do it”.
But God was being specific “When was the last time you got on your knees and reveranced Me”
I was convicted because I had to admit, it had been a while since I spent uninterrupted time with the Lord, you know not just the usual prayers we have rehearse and toss up on a daily but quality time paying for the needs of others and seek God's guidance and instruction.
Some time we get in a rut and become complacent especially when all is going well.
Jesus used this SubTopic to remind me of my neglected relationship with him. Since then (last week) I have communed with the Lord and am back in right relationship with Him.
Now the question. ‘ When was the last time you sought God’s face in prayer?”
Relationship: Seek His Face
